The”Prof. Abayomi Oluwatosin Jiboku Foundation” formerly known as the Dr. Abayomi Oluwatosin Jiboku Foundation (AOJF)- a non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded by Prof. Abayomi Jiboku aimed at providing educational support to Nigerian Youths.

Foundation Registration and Inception Details

It was duly registered as a certified and legalized NGO under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Abuja and formally launched at The Centre for Management Development, Lagos on Wednesday, 29th February, 2012.

AOJF is designed to execute, implement and cater for so many significant Educational Programmes and Humanitarian Functions which include:

  • Scholarship Schemes, Grants and Bursary Award.
  •  Training, Manpower Development, Basic Management Skills and Capacity building course for the Stakeholders in the Education Industry.
  • Seminars, Workshop and Symposia.

Chemistry Competition

In conjunction with CHEMICAL SOCIETY OF NIGERIAThe Professor Abayomi Oluwatosin Jiboku Chemistry competition is designed to encourage young and upcoming chemists that will contribute meaningfully to the development and learning of chemistry as a subject nationally and internationally.

FOUNDER'S PROFILE

Prof. Abayomi Oluwatosin Jiboku, the founder and proprietor of Taidob Group of Schools was born on 26th July, 1950 and hailed from Abeokuta, in the Abeokuta South Local Government of Ogun State.

He started his academic career at St. James African Primary School, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta, which he completed with good grades in 1962. Between 1964 and 1968, he had his Secondary Education at African Church Grammar School, Ita-Iyalode, Abeokuta.

Prof. Jiboku’s thirst for education was high, and this impetus propelled him to seek admission into Ijebu Ode Grammar School where he studied for his ‘A’ level programme in 1969, after which he opted for preliminary programme at University of Lagos. Between 1969 and 1974, Late Prof. Jiboku was a student of University of Lagos, where he studied Chemistry. He bagged a special Honours Degree (B.Sc. Hons) in Chemistry in 1974. Ever ambitious as before, he forged ahead in his academic career by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1976.

Further Academic Pursuits in Chemistry

Driven by his aspiration to become an accomplished professional in Chemistry, Prof. Jiboku pursued another Master's Degree in Physical Chemistry from the esteemed University of Ibadan in 1983. Undeterred by challenges, he returned to his alma mater as a doctoral student between 1983 and 1987, successfully obtaining a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Chemistry.

Active Participation

Throughout his career, Prof. Jiboku actively engaged in numerous local and international workshops and conferences, presenting a substantial number of academic and professional papers. He underwent a practical methodology course organized by Embassy CES Cambridge in the United Kingdom from 29th July to August 2002. His relentless pursuit of knowledge led him to Washington Academy in the United States of America, where he earned a Diploma in Applied Computer Technology in April 2003.

Continued Learning and Achievements

Continuing his educational endeavors, Prof. Jiboku participated in a 4-week educational program in Dubai on 22nd July 2012, organized by Commonwealth University, Belize. As a testament to his commitment, he was honored with a Doctoral degree in Education (D. Ed.) for his dedication and scholarly contributions.

Amongst notable awards received by this erudite scholar is the prestigious posthumous award of Emeritus Professor in ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY AND EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT from the European-American University in April, 2018.
